I accidentally discovered this restaurant last night and couldn't believe what I'd been missing!!
The waitstaff was charming, friendly and polite. We were offered perfectly sweetened hot tea free of charge to warm us up before our food came. We then ordered spring rolls, which came out only 5-10 minutes later! They were tightly wrapped in an especially tasty wrapper, and were beautiful to look at!
We ordered our entrees, and just as soon as we were finished with our appetizer it showed up - again, only about 5 minutes after we had ordered!
I got the mango fried rice - it had the perfect combination of vegetables, cashews, and grilled mango. Again, it was such a pleasure to look at I hardly wanted to eat it! But I am VERY glad I did... I savored every last grain of rice on my plate.
My boyfriend got crispy pad thai with chicken - the noodles were crunchy but soft in the middle, and the dish had TONS of flavor!
We didn't get dessert, but after looking at the menu, I knew we should have... bread-filled fried ice cream and thai pudding were amoung the options. Next time I am certainly going to save room for dessert.
On top of all of this, the restaurant is well-priced: our meal only came to $26! I think my entree was $9.95 while my boyfriend's was $11.95.
This hole in the wall is a shining GEM that no one in Portland should miss out on!!!

AS A native Mainer who has lived in Thailand for along time. I feel that this is "THE PLACE" for real thai food.
Ifelt that I was back in the Kingdom and on my 2nd visit with my soon to be 4 Son what a wonderful time we had! Oh the SOMTAM and everything we have eaten is so fresh and YUMMY as my son says. So try it and then become a regular! Even though we have to drive 49 miles each way we will try to come once a week if possible.
